This book is written by the wife of the Michael Farris who founded the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA).
It was not what I expected with a long explanation on her position on birth control and does mention her husband attending a Bill Gothard event. Their family also hired outside help at times to help manage their household. The duaghter, Jayme ghost-wrote most of the chapters. All these ‘warnings’ aside, I did find the book an interesting read into another homeschooling mother’s life, but primarily I was encouraged by the counsel to serve our children and lay aside our interests to see them grow to glorify God in their lives. I felt the book had some value to a discerning reader.
